If you want to get up close to the major draws, including the base of the iconic Towers, the "Horns" (Cuernos), and the French Valley in Torres des Paine, and the high glacial lakes just beneath Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre in Los Glaciares, then you will need to be able to hike for 11-13 miles on consecutive days with elevation gains and losses ranging from 1,000-3,400 feet. Terrain is often rocky and uneven, and there are particularly steep portions on two of the days. Add weather conditions that can be cold, windy, rainy and the difficulty can increase. We rate our Ultimate Patagonia hiking adventure a Level 4 (moderate to challenging) and our groups are led by highly experienced local guides who have been leading MT Sobek trips for more than a decade. How long does it take to hike in Patagonia?
